A friend of ours has gotten the series (well, the six episodes released so far) on Japanese Blu-ray, which thanks to the simplified region scheme, is also playable here. So for the last couple weeks we've been watching:<\/p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FwUlpqD_NH4?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<p>Yes, they're remaking the original <em>Space Battleship Yamato<\/em>. And it is <em>good<\/em>. They're staying very true to the original plot and story, but cleaning things up to make more sense.
