Digital art stream tonight 3/28/20

Tonight 3/28/20 starting at 5:30pm Pacific I'll be streaming on Picarto.  Because of current events this stream will not be from Caerdwyn's recording studio but instead will be a digital art stream from my own art studio.  So this evening take a break from current events and join me for art, stories, and some really great folks.

Then after my stream maybe hop over to my wife's Saturday night Final Fantasy stream on Twitch TV. The stream runs from 9:30pm Pacific to 11pm. Link.  I'll be there hanging out in the chat.

Digital Art stream 3/28/20

This Saturday 3/28/20 starting at 5:30pm Pacific I'll be streaming on Picarto. Now Caerdwyn and I are  observing the shelter-in-place order from our governor so I will not be streaming from Caerdwyn's recording studio.  Instead I'll be streaming from my own studio, and I will be working in Clip Studio Paint.

At times like this its nice to have some normalcy and routine in one's live. So I hope you can join for an evening of art, stories, and some pleasant online camaraderie. Hope you can make it.

Night Flight

This is one of several large commissions I am working on or am in the middle of finishing. This one is a 15" x 22" picture done in colored pencil, marker pen, technical pen, and at the end some white gouache paint. The working surface is Strathmore 500 Series Vellum Bristol Board.

I am particularly happy with how the moonlit clouds came out. I put a lot of thought into how I was going to do them, and I tried some new techniques which got me the results I was looking for. I'm hoping the technique will also work during daylight pictures. It's not faster, but it gives much more satisfying results than older techniques have.

I'm also happy that I was able to incorporate Nightmare Moon/Luna's cutie mark into the actual moon.

Tomorrow night 3/14/20 starting at 5:30pm Pacific I'll be creating more art on Picarto. Hope you can make it!
