More bumper inks for the GN. Too bad you only get a glimpse of the Great Dragon at the beginning of the story. I'm really happy with his design but at least I know what he looks like for Flash-backs. ^.^
Doing some bumper inks for the 'To Kill a Dragon' GN. There are going to be 7 total, some, like this one are inks of sketches I did, while other will be whole-cloth new.
Draco, mostly after the story has taken place in his more or less standard attire.
Fox Den and I have been busy getting the Graphic Novel of 'To Kill a Dragon' ready to go. At this point, we're waiting on the proof from the printer before giving the final go-ahead. We're hoping to have copies in our hands for APE 2015 here in San Jose.
Finally got word today that we have our table! alas - they posted thier list to facebook and not thier website, so it took a while to track down. Doh!
We're also hoping to have my novella, 'The Keeper's Warrior' as well as my older comics and some prints avaible at the table too. So if your at the show during the first week in October, please come by the table and say "Hi". I'd be good to see you all!
This is a commission I recently finished for Earl McClaw. McClaw came to me this year with an unusual request. Instead producing a finished piece of work that would be framed he asked whether I'd be willing to work on the cover of a book. This was a blank sketchbook that he would other artist fill interior with additional art.
This meant that I would be working on piece that would later be handled, shipped and touched by far more hands and surfaces than I have ever done before. To give the art the best chance for survival I sprayed the final piece with four to five coats of UV resistant acrylic clear coat. That way the art has a fade-resistant, and semi-water resistant coating over it.
