Up, up and away, on my beautiful, beautiful balloon

So as most of you know - Poor Titanium is stuck on Tatooine, trying to get the 2 datacrons on the Sandcraler in the Dune Sea. This is a long, boring process, that is made even more painful by the balloon occasionally bugging. While they have fixed it in the past it keeps cropping up like a Chuthulu spawn.

However I really liked the proposed suggestion of one person, Valethar, on the SWTOR forums -

What we need to do is send a fleet to Azeroth.

Once there, we send down an invasion force, and enslave as many Gnomes and Goblins as possible, then import them to Tatooine.

While that fleet is gone, we mobilize another fleet, exterminate the Jawas, and prepare the planet for it's new inhabitants.

Within days we'll see construction beginning on a new fleet of airships that not only do not vanish mere yards from their destination, but will move faster and be steerable by more than a Womp Rat passing gas 100 kilometers away.

Or we could just leave the Jawas on Tatooine, and import the Gnomes and Goblins to Austin, TX instead.

One way or the other, the balloon would get fixed.

Well said!

EDIT: with all that said - I think I've figured out a way to have just ONE person go though the ride, and can pull up the rest of the party to get the others without pain. I will set Moe up for this soon, if folks are interested.

WildStar coming … soon?

WildStar is a new MMO that I've been following for about a year+. However - in the past couple of months they've been ramping up the promotion machine and are taking applications for Beta.

So, what has got me so interested? A couple things really.

1) It's the rare bird going for a sci-fantasy feel (instead of high-fantasy like most), that is not based off an already pre-existing property.
2) The developers have acknowledged that 60% of the players out there are soloists and are trying to develop content for that group.

3) They have set up an interesting mechanic that acknowledges different play-styles via Paths (Soldier, Explorer, Scientist, and Settler)

4) They do not take themselves seriously.

With all that said, It's all pie in the sky until it actually comes out, or reports from the beta come in. Considering it's competition, for new, high-end MMO's are Neverwinter and Elder Scrolls, it definitely is trying to do something different.

WildStar is something I'm keeping my eye on. ^.^

Rindis’ March 2013 Summary

Posted In: Boardgames, Books, Games, Review

Reading:
3/4 – How Rome Fell

Advanced Squad Leader:
3/7 – FB5: Siesta Time
3/10 – J45 The Last Roadblock (FtF)
3/14 – FB19 Waffenbrüderschaft – test run (playtest game)
3/28 – D11 Ripe Pickings

Other games:
3/3 – Cape Henry (Flying Colors)
3/12 – Two Rounds of Hippacritae (Commands & Colors: Ancients)
3/16 – A Tale of Two Europas (Europa Universalis review)

Considering that the weekly ASL series is officially over, a fair amount more activity than I was fearing. I started my review of Europa Universalis a year ago and stalled out when multiple attempts kept wandering off into more minutiae than I really wanted to go into. I finally ruthlessly hacked down the written sections and finished off the review a couple weeks ago, and now I'm hoping to get back to writing computer game reviews on a semi-regular basis.

Vividred Operation – The New Girls und Panzer?

Well, it's my first review, but this is a rather cute, but highly strange anime about four magical girls protecting the Earth's power source from creatures known as the Alone.  This has a bit of magical girl to it, as the young ladies change into their uniforms in ways that leave only a little to the imagination.  Of course, the fact that it is hot enough that all the girls wear bloomer shorts and cold enough to wear long sleeves should tell you quite a bit.  Anyway, the fact that they can transform is not bad enough, but they can also 'dock', a term where two girls fuse together to create a well endowed and more powerful version of themselves.

Don't let the first first moments of the series throw you.  Crotch shots do occasionally happen, but they are very prevalent in the first ten minutes of the episode.  There are a lot of things going on in this one as well, such as friendship, bringing others to understand their worth, trying to bring enemies to become friends, etc.  It's not really a bad show and I've been wanting to see the next episode each time they add one.    You should give it a look when you get a chance, just give it an equal chance and watch past the first ten minutes of the first episode. ^_^
